North Down Cluster Programme

ArtsEkta is currently in receipt of funding from European Regional Development Fund to deliver an outreach programme in schools in the North Down cluster region (North Down, Ards & Down districts areas) addressing issues of racism and cultural diversity.

The programme, which is an adaptation of ArtsEkta’s Cultural Coach programme, involves a series of hand-on workshops with highly experience facilitators and artists from different ethnic backgrounds. Workshops include dances, music and visual arts and crafts from around the world, with the aim of facilitating safe and shared dialogue in an environment of mutual understanding.

This programme is fully funded by the European Regional Development Fund. There is no artistic or material cost involved for schools or community groups. However, ArtsEkta will welcome some contributions from groups in order to help towards the long-term continuity of the programme in the region

This programme has now ended.

CITY OF FESTIVALS

ArtsEkta regularly receives funding from other council-administered Peace III schemes to contribute to the development of positive relations at a local level.

Recently we have completed a programme in partnership with Belfast City Council Good Relations which aimed to connect an outreach programme targeting young people and women to our three annual festivals Belfast Mela, Diwali & Samhain and Festival of Colours.

This programme has now ended, however we expect to undertake work again in Spring 2012
